Cooking project @ 23 August 2009

I love to eat radish cake (pan fried or fried) back home. I hardly have the opportunity to eat here. Was craving for it recently (baby wants to eat =p). As I don't know how to make the radish cake (it's quite a lot of work but will give it a try one day), I bought the ready make radish cake from See Woo.

Fried it for lunch today. Ingredients include bean sprouts, eggs, garlic, chili paste, dark soy sauce and light soy sauce. According to recipe, to put in salted radish but I don't have this.

Very easy steps:
1) Cut radish cake into small cubes.

2) Heat up oil and fry the garlic till golden brown.
3) Put in the radish cake and stir fry. Add in dark soy sauce, light soy sauce and chili paste (to taste).
4) Once fragrant, pour in the beaten eggs (I used two eggs for 8 pieces of turnip cake).
5) Continue to stir fry until the eggs mix well with the radish cake.
6) Lastly, add in the bean sprouts and stir fry for another 2 minutes. Dish out and serve hot.

VOILA!! DONE!!

Verdict: YUMMYYYY!!

Another cooking project for dinner..Hainanese chicken rice. To make life easy, I called my mum for the recipe. So, here is the final result. Quite easy too (after 2 hours of preparation and cooking)..

I steamed the chicken instead of poaching it (mum's style).

Bean sprouts with garlic oil, sesame oil and dash of pepper.

The rice was not fragrant enough because not enough chicken stock (from the steamed chicken) but it was all right. I also have chili paste to go with the chicken. The chili paste..PASSED but need to add lime juice next time so it's not so dry.

Verdict: PASSED!! Can open stall already..HAHAHAHAHAH!!
