RM50 for a good cause
You are out on a date with your boyfriend on a Saturday afternoon. Had lunch and the bill was RM30 for two. Both of you then decide to watch a movie and paid RM20 for two tickets. It was easy spending that RM50 in less than 2 hours.
I am not saying that you can't go out on a date with your loved one. But for the same amount of money, it could help provide solutions to the myriad of challenges that a child faces growing up in a poor country. This includes improving to clean water, health care and education.
With that said, I've recently sign up to World Vision to sponsor a child. I learned about this sponsorship from a couple of colleagues who had also signed up. With a small contribution of RM50 a month, it will be invested in a long term development programmes that will give the sponsored child including his/her family and community a brighter future.
You have the option to choose the origin country of your sponsored child from a selected list of countries focusing more in the Asia Pacific. The contribution amount may be immaterial but the thought of being able to help the poor children is more than enough. You could play a part by contributing to improve this children life.
I don't know the gender of my sponsored child as of now. I did not also choose where I want my sponsored child is from. So long as the contribution helps, it doesn't matter to me. I'll update when there are further details.
