One accounting close down

The May07 close ended last Friday. Thank goodness it went quite well with not much problematic issues. It wasn't that smooth sailing neither as one of the main machine that caters support to the entire accounting function crashed on one of the day leaving everyone helpless for almost 20hours.

It was total madness when the system went up. My mind went blank with a report that I have been doing for the past 1.5 years only to realised I was not able to reconcile the figures. With the timeline pressure, I felt as if my heart would stop anytime if I could not send the report on time. All closing activities dateline remain the same with no exception and extention =(.

I also had to juggle between my current role (80% was taken care by another colleague who is acting as my backup though), my backfilling role (from my previous post) as well as supporting role to another colleague for system setup matters. I felt as if I was an octopus.

With God's strength, I was able to pull myself through. Phew!! Well, one accounting close is down for now. The next battle would requires much more mental strength as well as physical (probably sleepness nights and puffy eyes). Oh well, don't want to think so much first. Just want to lay back and enjoy my weekend.
