Easter Vigil a year back

Last Saturday, I attended Easter Vigil at SFX with Leslie. Easter this year marks my 1st year as a baptised Catholic.

Recalling back a year ago prior to my baptism, I was in total distress. Firstly, I did not have full support from my family members to be baptised. Coming from a Buddhist family, they believe that I should not turn against "Kwan Yin" whom I had been adopted to since I was a baby, but instead to be thankful to her for all the great things that I am currently having. Secondly, I was only 6months into my current job and was still trying to cope with the system which wasn't easy at all. To add on that, my better half was thousand of miles away. His presence would definitely makes a lot of difference.

Anyway, that was a year ago. My family members had finally accepted the fact I am a baptised Catholic and they are fine with it now. As I assured them a year ago, all things remains the same. I am still their filial daughter, I can pray to the ancestor, eat the foods that are used to pray to the deitees, enter the temples, pray during Cheng Beng etc . The only thing that I can't do it to pray to the deitees and to be blessed by the holy water as a family at the temple, a tradition thing we do yearly on the first day of CNY.

Happy belated Easter.
