Lili's home made Yong Tau Foo
One of my favourite dish back home is Yong Tau Foo. I've always love it whether it's my mum's home made or the hawker stalls with chee cheung fun. I can honestly say that I often dreamt of my mum's home made Yong Tau Foo. Can you imagine how much I am actually 'craving' for it?
The problem in London is that you can't find a restaurant that serve one. Also, to make Yong Tau Foo, you need this particular fish call 'Kau Yu' (not sure what it is call in English) for the paste which I can't find at all. So as a substitute, I manage to find fish paste at See Woo. Hooray!
And here is my final result after a couple of hours hard work yesterday. I make close to 40 pieces.
Stuffed Yong Tau Foo (ready for pan frying)
After pan frying (a little burnt though)
I make tau chu sauce (salted soy bean) to eat with it. The sauce was a little salty though (I put too many tablespoons of the tau chu =p). So in the end, I just ate it without the sauce.
Overall, it was all right. Another dish to add to my little cooking 'achievement'. =)
