Thumbs up for KIPPas
I went to renew my passport this morning at the Terminal 2 Subang Airport branch Immigration Department. I arrived about 7.30 a.m. with the hope that the crowd won't be so huge. I had been pre-warned though by a colleague that since it's the school holiday season, be prepared.
The crowd was indeed huge. OMG!! The next thing that comes to mind is "How long do I have to queue and wait?".
One lady then highlighted to me that I can actually renew my passport via the kiosk. Oh yuh!! How could I not remember that??!!
And there I am queing at the KIPPas (Kiosk Pembaharuan Passport). I was given an envelope to put all my documents.
Remember, all you need are:
1) 1 passport size photo
2) A photocopy of your IC and original IC
3) Old passport
4) RM300 (for 32 pages)
My turn came shortly. All I had to do was put in my old passport and original IC for the kiosk verification purposes. Then confirm the datas on the screen. Next, insert RM300 and voila..get the receipt and come back in 2 hours time to collect the passport at the counter. Don't worry if you wonder how to use the kiosk as there will be a person there to guide.
Piece of CAKE!!! All in all, less than 20 minutes including the queing time. Thumbs up for KIPPas!! This is the way to go for efficiency.
