Bali (Day 2 - 25th Jul 2008) Part 2

Headed back to the hotel after a late lunch at Seminyak. Our driver arrived at 4.30pm to pick us to Uluwatu to see the Pura Luhur, an ancient Balinese sea temple located on top of the cliff jutting out to the sea, suspended some 825 feet over the roaring Indian ocean. Uluwatu is located near the southernmost tip of Bali.

Breathtaking sights of the cliff..

The sunset view of the Pura Luhur..AMAZING!!!! Of course, you need a little skill to take beautiful sunset photos =)

At 6.00 pm, we headed to watch Kecak dance, a form of Balinese music drama performed primarily by men. Also known as the Ramayana Monkey Chant, the piece is performed by a circle of 100 or more performers wearing checked cloth around their waists, percussively chanting "cak" and throwing up their arms, depicts a battle from the Ramayana where the monkey-like Vanara helped Prince Rama fight the evil King Ravana.

The dance lasted an hour. Next on the itinerary was dinner of fresh seafood at Jimbaran. Ambience was great. We paid quite a hefty price to dine there though. Well, at least it was an experience.

Our seafood dinner finally arrived after almost an hour wait..what a wait!

And finally..cheers for the night..
