INFLATION!

When the official announcement was made by the Prime Minister on the new petrol price last Wednesday, car owners began to swamp the nearest petrol stations to get their car tank fill up.

Watching from the 16th floor that I am working on, I was shocked with the amount of vehicles seen queuing for their turns. Even the Mobil petrol station which usually has lesser customers were also jammed up.

A colleague of mine told me she was stuck along the LDP for more than 3 hours. Oh my GOD!! I was lucky as I had pumped my car tank full a day earlier in anticipation that the fuel price would hike within the next couple of days. Phew! Neverheless, how much can I save with that one time full tank and to pay an additional RM0.78 per litre moving forward?

The fuel hike of RM0.78 is simply a drastic one with a spiralling effect on consumer goods and food. INFLATION it is!! It really does impact all walks of life.

With that say, I guess I am going to:
1) Lunch lesser at the mall next door and pack lunch from home. Alternatively, order the mixed rice that cost about RM5. One lunch at the mall cost at least RM10.

2) Increase frequency of working from home during non close period. Save toll and petrol.

3) Drink coffee only from the vending machine in the office or my own sachets. I used to enjoy the coffee from Gloria Jeans/Starbucks. Have to cut on such lifestyles. Sob sob!

4) Don't travel anywhere unless necessary. I have loads of activities even though at home =) ie. watching the TV/Korean dramas, blogging, reading, help to do house chores, catching up with my beauty sleep. See, I get busy too..

Whatever other measures can be taken..I guess I have to set my mindset to "Cut cost cut cost. Petrol price increase ah!".

RM2.70 now, RM4+ in August. I too will be increasing the days I WFH to cope with the petrol hike.
