Be kind my dear car..

I took my car for a service yesterday. The last time my car got serviced in late Dec06, it costs me about RM500. I felt as if I was being 'cut at the throat'. Anyway, it was a major service that my car required, so I did not have much of a choice. These mechanics are my so called "family car doctors", so they are reliable and trustworthy.

Ok..back to yesterday. Whilst servicing the car, the mechanics found that the aircond's fan wasn't functioning and there was a weird sound coming from the engine. After 'diagnosing', they suspected that the aircond's compressor or the compressor's bearing may be the cause of the problem. No wonder the car was behaving weirdly when I was driving from Midvalley to Subang.

They advised me to bring the car to the 'car aircond specialist' for further 'treatment'. Oh no!! I casually asked one of the mechanics if the aircond compressor really needs to be changed and how much would it cost me? He told me it would cost approximately RM500-600. WHAT!!!! I could not believe my ears.

After forking out RM240 for the service (got the car battery changed as well), I headed straight to the next 'doctor'. After a prelim examination, my worst fears were realised as the compressor's bearing was faulty.

I sent my car for repair this morning instead so that I would not need to wait 3 hours at the garage. Deep down, I was praying hard that I am not 'cut at the throat' again. I picked my car about 2pm and the bill......................drum roll......

About RM320. Phew!! Anyway, it's still bad enough because I paid a total of RM560 this time around just for the car itself which I consider quite a lot..sob sob...
